CORRECTION/DISSOLVING TREATMENT

Dr Nawaz believes that any treatment undertaken should be reasonable and safely administered using appropriate technique. It is important that filler enhances your natural beauty whilst respecting relevant proportions and facial ratios. Unfortunately not every practitioner is equal and not every product is equal. There have been many instances where Dr Nawaz has had to intervene in order to correct or dissolve previous work from other practitioners. This is done in 2 ways;

1. Correction – Dermal filler is expertly placed to improve the appearance of mildly incorrect previous work
2. Dissolving – Hyaluronidase aka Hyalase is precisely injected to dissolve the grossly incorrect previous work

Hyalase is an enzyme used to dissolve hyaluronic acid, which is what the majority of dermal fillers are made of. Dr Nawaz will perform a patch test, which usually takes 30 minutes to ensure you’re eligible for this reversal treatment. He will then use an extremely accurate and precise technique when administering the Hyalase via a fine needle, which safely dissolves the previously incorrectly placed filler.

Including the patch test the treatment time is 35 minutes in total. The majority of the previous filler will be dissolved within 24 hours following the Hyalase, but it can continue to dissolve any remaining filler for up to 1 week.

The patient may require 2 dissolving treatments in order to completely remove all unwanted previous filler. They may also require 2 dermal filler treatments in order to re-fill the area.

Dr Nawaz uses an extremely accurate and precise technique when administering the Hyalase via an extremely fine needle, although mild swelling and mild bruising can be expected.
